Healing Journey with Suzie Dagget
Looking behind illness
Often there is an emotional or psychological component involved

Where did you get the inspiration to become a doctor of natural health?
When I was in kindergarten, the teacher asked everyone what
they wanted to be when they grew up. My answer was “a
doctor”. She asked my why, but I had no answer, I just
knew I wanted to help people. In fifth grade, I came to class
with a huge medical encyclopedia to read during recess. Unfortunately,
my teacher made fun of me and my huge book. I was then discouraged
and put the idea of becoming a doctor behind me. Twenty-five
years later, my daughter had serious allergies that could
not be relieved by traditional medicine. Out of desperation,
I finally took her to a Chinese Energy Doctor. I watched in
amazement as her giant hives went away in a matter of 10 minutes.
This incident triggered my interest in medicine, specifically
bio-energetic and naturopathic medicine.
What is natural medicine?
It is based on the work of Hipprocrates, who taught "nature
is the healer of all diseases". He believed anything
could be healed if he found the right herb to stimulate or
generate a fever in the body. A fever is the result of the
immune system’s response to an infection. You burn out a virus or bacteria with a fever since they cannot live with heat. A strong immune system will generate a fever and thus rid the body of the problem. A lot of the herbs are designed to stimulate different functions of the body to resolve whatever the disruption is. a doctor of natural health makes use of the latest biochemical research involving cellular nutrition, nurtaceuticals, homeopathy, Immune Metabolics and other natural remedies.
What types of modalities do you use?
I studied in Germany where they have taken the Chinese model of 5-Element theory (as in acupuncture) and blended it with biofeedback technology. These devices look at the body energetically and show how each of the meridian systems are functioning. My belief is that behind each illness is an emotional/psychological component. Thus, I use the Scalar Heart ConnectionTM technique, which uses applied kinesiology (muscle-testing) to access the body’s own innate wisdom. This process provides
a step by step way to identify any unconscious patterns or
negative belief that may be putting a stress on the system.
In my consultation practice, I combine the energetic, emotional
component with the meridians to stimulate the body’s
own natural functions so the body can heal itself. In addition,
I bring in the elements of naturopathy, like homeopathy, herbology,
reflexology, and iridology – to provide a comprehensive
picture of the body from a more natural medicine perspective.
What does someone experience when
they come to you?
First, I do a very complete history, going back to their birth
and their parent’s lifestyle. As I go through all the childhood diseases, I can see where there might be a weakness in their constitution, or if they were exposed to chemicals or pesticides, or had a history of dental infections, reactions to vaccines, etc. Once you get to the root history of the person, you can start to understand the causative factors of a disease. My job is more of a health investigator – getting to the base factors so the body can heal itself. I use biofeedback to see what meridians are effected or de-compensated. As I match this with the history, I can see how the history is correlating with the energetic problems. I also use iridology (looking into the eyes) and tongue and fingernail analysis as well as blood work from their physician. From there I use Scalar Heart ConnectionTM to determine if there are any other energetic pathways that may be disrupted from an emotional, psychological or mental point of view. If I have all these pieces together, then, 99% of the time I have a pretty comprehensive idea of what needs to be done. I then make recommendations about diet, nutritional supplements, homeopathics and/or Immune Metabolics that will push the body in the direction that is specific to it’s
needs.
What is Scalar Heart Connection?
It is a process that allows the practitioner to access the
client’s own innate wisdom. The belief is that the body-mind system knows everything. If you look at the body like a hologram, every piece is a reflection of the whole. For instance, if someone has an on-going internal dialogue or negative mind-talk, and it is not changed, they can over time become sick. The constant stress of living in flight or fight mode depletes our immune system and then disease can manifest. With Scalar Heart Connection we muscle-test to determine the source of the negative mind-talk. From there we can shift the resonance, change the perception and begin the healing process.
What can people do to improve their
health?
Many of these concepts are covered in my book “The Heart
of Health,” which explains the life-enhancing principles
of physical health and vitality. However, the key for me is
pH…the potential for hydrogen. If you have a high or
alkaline pH, you are attracting oxygen. Our bodies are like
a swimming pool, if the pH is balanced, the pool is clear,
if the pH is out of balance, the water is green and murky,
attracting all types of pathogens. Our current American diet
is very high in acidic foods, thus we have an acidic pH, which
over time can lead to diseases like arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular
disease and cancer. Watch the amount of simple carbohydrates,
processed sugars and junk-foods you are eating. Look for foods
that are naturally alkaline, like organic fresh fruits and
vegetables. Limit your intake of acidic foods such as grains
and legumes to 25% of your diet. I only recommend pharmaceutical
grade supplements that give us anti-oxidant protection that
we need in order to neutralize free radicals that come from
toxins.
