Amylase has been found to be very effective in Celiac problems. Amylase will enzymatically cleanse the carbohydrate portion of the gliadens (toxic portion of the gluten) from wheat and rye and render the gluten harmless.
Amylase deficiency is involved in anti-inflammatory conditions of the skin, e.g., psoriasis, eczema, allergies, bee and bug stings, hives and all types of herpes. A high carbohydrate diet causes an imbalance of enzymes, causing an amylase deficiency.*
Amylase deficiency may be an indicator of asthma, emphysema and stiff joints.*
Amylase helps digest all saccharides (like those found in gluten, fruit, honey, etc.) and converts them to mono-saccharides.
